I acknowledge that the majority of my work in 2025 has been created in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. I honor their deep connection to the land, waters, and community that continue to sustain their culture and traditions. I also remember the Acadian people, whose early presence here was marked by a spirit of peaceful coexistence and friendship with the Mi’kmaq before the onset of British colonization. May this work carry forward the memory of respect and harmony that once guided these lands.
